Snowfall in British Columbia prompts early opening of Big White Ski Resort
Heavy snowfall that has been falling in parts of BC over the last few days prompted Big White Ski Resort officials to announce that they will be opening the ski resort as early as possible this season.
“Mother Nature just delivered 17cm of fresh powder overnight, making it the second day of snowfall this season for us in many areas, resulting in a widespread base of over 100cm in some areas,” the ski resort wrote in a post on its X page Sunday afternoon.
Taking advantage of this means hitting the slopes as early as possible.”

To get the most out of Big White’s opening day, the ski area is operating from 8:45 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. to make the most of the day.
This year, Blackcomb Mountain will open as scheduled on Thursday, November 21, under the previous schedule. An opening of Whistler Mountain is scheduled for November 22, a day later than the rest of the resort.
Meanwhile, the Revelstoke Mountain Resort continues to make good progress on its timetable to be open by November 30.
