A Cheap Ski Spot in the U.S. You Won’t Find in Colorado, Utah, or Wyoming
Gore Mountain in the heart of the Adirondacks is the most affordable ski mountain in the United States, just over four hours north of New York City.
Sports such as skiing are generally expensive. HomeToGo reports that Gore Mountain costs an average of $195.02 per day. A lift ticket costs $107, while a median vacation rental costs $88.02 per night.
Both the most affordable and most popular mountain resorts charged $188.15 per day for lift tickets, and there was a $164.41 median cost per night for accommodations.

With over 450 skiable acres and 115 trails, Gore Mountain is one of the best spots in New York to ski. The longest trail is 4.4 miles long. Despite the mountain’s lower elevation, it has an impressive vertical drop of 2,537 feet.
The Nordic Center at the mountain offers cross-country skiing and snowshoeing for visitors in addition to downhill skiing and snowboarding.
A total daily rate of $200.92 was found at Washington’s Mt. Baker Ski Area. With its classic ski resort and lots of powder, this resort was one of HomeToGo’s lowest-priced lift tickets, selling for just $94.27 per day. Colorado’s Purgatory Resort, which sells daily lift tickets for $83 on average, ranked second.
Montana’s Whitefish Mountain Resort rounded out the top three with a daily rate of $223.02. Among its 111 trails are four terrain parks, as well as nearly 3,000 acres of trails.
On the list of affordable resorts, Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine and Ski Santa Fe in New Mexico ranked fourth and fifth, respectively.
